Front Cover Analysis For Our Digipak

Rihanna

I have looked at Album covers from artists who are categorised in the pop genre. This front cover from Rihanna's digipak "Loud". The artist is is the main part of this front cover and takes of most of the space. The font is fairly small to imply that Rihanna is the main part of this cover photo and shows she is of high importance. The red hair and lipstick implies the album could be about love or danger as red signifies this.

Sia

Another front cover I have looked at is from one of Sia's albums. This is unique as it does not involve the artist but still symbolises her with the wig that the artist wears. The font shows the artist is unique and promotes 'fear' in some of her music. This is useful for the front cover of our digipak as it implies it is not always conventional to use the artist on the fron cover, it can be her iconogrpahy.

Katy Perry

Another front cover I have looked at is Katy Perry "Teenage dream". In this front cover katy perry is using her sexuality, this differs to Sia as that doe not involve the artist at all. It also differs to Rihanna's album cover as it is a close up of Rihanna. Katy Perry being in the clouds is trying to imply she is 'godlike' and is of high importance. This is useful to us as we want our artist to be of someone with importance but from a political point of view and not in a sexual way.
